Paddocks

The Stretton Park farm has eight main paddocks profiled here, that our livestock rotate through. In addition to these eight paddocks there are also three small fenced yards which serve to fence off 'The Lane', plus a small holding cattle yard and a Sheep Yard adjacent to the Main Dam.

ABOUT OUR WOOL

Wool Heritage Achievements

The Wool Heritage at Stretton Park echoes a proud legacy of merino excellence, drawn from historic Geelong wool sales and rural appraisals that span generations. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, the farm’s clips shone in auction catalogues, with merino fleeces branded “over AW” (Andrew White) achieving 10d per pound across 15 bales, while first combing and fleece lots reached 12d, and second combing at 11d. Descriptions praised their “sup extra” quality and “blue corn fed” vitality, with volumes like 7 bales of first combing, 11 bales of first fleece, and average weights up to 15 lb reflecting the land’s fertile bounty.
" A proud legacy … the farm's clips shone in auction catalogues "
By the 1940s, appraisals celebrated “highest price in our catalogue was 20” pence per pound for fellmongered wool under “STRETTON PARK A (Mt Duneed)”, marking record clip prices that honoured the property’s enduring role in Australia’s wool story - a timeless blend of skill, soil, and superior fibre that continues to inspire.
